Dr. Seemab Shaikh is a senior eminent ENT Surgeon and a well-known name in the field of ENT and Snoring and OSA in this country.

He has worked on it in a very organized manner. He has to his credit the dedication and the hard work with which he spearheaded this subspecialty in India. He is credited with being the PIONEER IN INDIA for the spread of awareness and treatment of the disease. He has written a book and authored chapters in various books on this subject.

He was chosen as the FOUNDER PRESIDENT of IASSA [Indian Association of Surgeons for Sleep Apnea].

His basic medical undergrad and postgrad education ended in BJ Medical College Pune way back in 1993.

He, then, went ahead to specialize in the science of OSA taking training from various centers in GERMANY & SINGAPORE, NORWAY amongst many other centers of the world.

Snoring is a type of unusual breathing in which sound is formed during sleep due to obstruction/failure of the airways.

OSA is caused by the collapse and consequently blockage by soft tissue in the rear of the throat, during sleep. Sleep is disrupted resulting in excessive sleepiness or fatigue during the day.
